SITUATION Opening a new business in a location with a tarnished reputation comes with a unique set of challenges. When the owners of Sushi Nine bought their location on Western Boulevard in Raleigh, N.C., they never foresaw the obstacles that ensued. Fighting the stigma against the restaurant that had previously occupied that space proved to be an unexpected task for Sushi Nine.

SOLUTION With a complete overhaul of the brand’s collateral, BEC helped establish Sushi Nine as a high-quality hot spot for Asian fare. From new menus and in-venue digital displays to control over directory submissions and a new website, BEC has breathed new life into Sushi Nine.

SUCCESS Just two months into BEC’s contract with Sushi Nine, the restaurant has enjoyed 4 percent growth. Such early growth, especially in the summer months when the college campus restaurant’s target market is away for summer, was not predicted. In June, BEC and Sushi Nine hosted a benefit concert for Community Music School in Raleigh. The one-night event raised more than $600.00 in just a few hours and won a bronze ADDY award.
